As a member of Amazon's Global Retail Systems Development team,
you'll play a key role in driving Amazon's Retail business.
You will solve technical challenges in Large Webscale Computing, Distributed Systems,
Web Applications, Data Mining, Optimization, Scalability, Availability and Algorithms to name a few.
Working with business teams to translate their needs into technical requirements you will build
cutting-edge systems that meet challenging business and technical goals.

The Retail Catalog team is responsible for the design and support of Amazon’s
back end systems and services that feed the domestic and international retail catalogues.
Our prime objective is to ensure that regular updates of product information are correctly
processed in a timely manner and that the quality of data meets business requirements.
Our secondary objective is to improve the robustness of our systems and to reduce data
 latency by producing innovative ways of increasing data flow and improving failure recovery.

We are keen to receive applications from recent, top quality graduates with good all
round programming knowledge who are excited to work in a multi-language environment
that includes Java, Perl, Scala, and C++.
Basic Qualifications
  1. Strong understanding of distributed systems and multi-threaded programming
  2. Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, big “O” analysis and designing for performance, scalability, and availability
  3. Outstanding problem-solving abilities and a clear commitment to making Amazon a great place to work
  4. Ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
