Job Responsibilities:
Golder Associates India is planning to initiate services for innovative, cost-effective and reliable infrastructure design for underground mines and paste backfill, paste surface tailings disposal solutions. As part of Golder Associates worldwide, we have access to a full international team of integrated mining / paste specialists.

Golder Associates is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join its Paste Engineering and Design group in Delhi. The group will provide specialized services in the field of paste backfill and thickened tailings disposal.
This field is an emerging specialist niche and Golder is currently the world leader in the provision of these types of services to premier mining and power generation clients worldwide. As a result, our consultants are in demand throughout the world and Golder can offer a very interesting and stimulating work environment for a junior engineer who will be surrounded by leaders in the field. Paste backfill and thickened tailings disposal technology includes a number of challenging solids liquid separation, high density pumping and materials handling aspects.
The successful candidate will learn how to use cutting edge equipment and design to achieve the clients’ goals of minimizing the environmental impact of the disposal of their waste products and the re-use of some of those waste products for beneficial purposes such as underground structural fill. Your duties will include but will not be limited to the following: :

- Visiting client facilities at mine sites ;
- Reviewing laboratory test work and applying the data to equipment selection;
- Performing conceptual, feasibility and detailed mechanical design work, including equipment specifications, plant layouts, piping and valving specifications and layouts;
- Performing material balances and process control descriptions;
- Preparing, writing and reviewing proposals and project reports;
- Interacting with clients and being responsible for project deliverables and client satisfaction;
- Coordinating with other disciplines and other Golder Associates groups;
- Participating in Golder’s Health & Safety program; and,
- Assisting with other project work as required.

Job Requirements:
Successful candidates will possess the following:
• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering;
• Knowledge of standard software (Word, Excel, Access, MS Project, etc.);
• Knowledge of 3D design software (AutoCAD, Inventor, Solidworks etc.) would be an asset;
• Familiarisation with on-site commissioning and construction or mining operations would be an asset;
- Ability to travel, including projects that may require long duration field posting • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to work in a collegial environment;
• Be well versed in risk assessment and Golder Health & Safety requirements;
• Be available for local and international business travel and extended working hours when required; and,
• Be a team player with strong people skills.
